Johnson Controls, a Milwaukee-based energy optimization company, is integrating IBM’s data center energy management capabilities with its own building management system.
Johnson Controls hopes to enhance a corporate-wide view of energy consumption by integrating Metasys, the company’s building management system, with IBM’s Tivoli Monitoring for Energy Management software.
The combination of systems will allow customer to optimize energy usage from analyzing events and alerts, to taking action and lower energy consumption, the company says. Customers can go online and control power consumption, allocate energy consumption based on the business’ priority and make fast failover decisions to ensure continual performance of critical IT services.
