AmerenUE is contracting Lockheed Martin to help the company implement energy efficiency programs for its 1.2 million business and residential electric customers.
The contracts are part of Ameren’s commitment to spend more than $70 million over three years on a range of initiatives including incentives to help consumers reduce their energy use and save money, and to delay the construction of new power plants.
Under the first of two contracts, Lockheed will work with Ameren’s large industrial and commercial customers to make lighting, heating and cooling, compressed air, motor drives, refrigeration and other processes in industrial plants, offices and commercial facilities more energy efficient.
Under the second contract, Lockheed will help Ameren residential customers in accessing and purchasing EnergyStar lighting and appliance products, and will assist home builders in designing, building and marketing EnergyStar new homes.
