Lite-On Technology Corp., the world’s largest maker of casings for mobile phones, announced it will cut carbon dioxide emissions by 10 percent within three years.

The company says it is also adopting environmentally friendly practices in its manufacturing and materials processes.

In addition, Lite-On is launching “A tree for me, a forest for thee” campaign and said it will adopt at least 20,000 trees to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 15 metric tons per year; equivalent to the amount produced by driving 68,000 kilometers.
