Recently, Toyota announced that they’d be offering customers a new hybrid pre-owned certification program.
The new program will certify used hybrids and offer a three-month/3,000-mile comprehensive warranty and a seven-year/100,000-mile power-train warranty. They also plan to give consumers an eight-year/100,000-mile hybrid battery warranty.
No other hybrid automobile manufacturer has been around long enough to be in this kind of position. Toyota and Lexus sell the most hybrids in the United States, thanks to their popular Prius, which was introduced in 1997. The company unveiled its third-generation Prius this year at the Detroit Auto Show, in addition to a number of other hybrids on the road, including the Camry sedan, Highlander SUV, and Lexus LS.
In addition, Toyota also announced the launch of aim: zero emissions, a new blog that will stimulate discussion about the company’s environmental policies. Colin Hensley, General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Planning for TME, is the blog’s lead writer and is part of Toyota’s self-proclaimed “360° approach to the environment.”
