Johnson Controls Completes Solar Project

johnson_controls_1Johnson Controls has erected nearly 1,500 solar panels on the northeast corner of its headquarters campus in Glendale, Wis., Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel reports.

The solar power system is the largest in the state and is part of the headquarters’ $73 million renovation and rehabilitation project. The headquarters will serve as a showpiece for Johnson Controls as it aims to persuade customers, with the help of the stimulus package, to incorporate renewable energy into their buildings.

Part of the stimulus package allows companies to get a check from the federal government instead of a tax credit if they add renewable energy.

The company recently made Uptime Institute’s Global Green 100 list, which highlights significant energy efficiency achievements of global corporations operating major data centers.
