The technical validation program — “Ready for IBM Energy & Environment”– is the first one of its kind in the IT industry, according to the company. The validation process will require products and services to meet stringent criteria established by the IBM Energy & Environment Review Board, regarding resources including energy, water and paper materials.

IBM developed the program to help clients address sustainability issues by showcasing solutions that are already reducing environmental impact in the field, said Jim Corgel, general manager of IBM independent software vendors and developer relations.

EL has also covered an IBM program to optimize supply chain networks.
