Aviation Companies Bind Together for Sustainability

bombardier_learjetManufacturers of small and medium aircraft have together resolved to tackle sustainability.

Hawker Beechcraft, Spirit AeroSystems, Cessna Aircraft and Bombardier Learjet, along with Wichita State University in Kansas, are partnering toward environmental sustainability, according to AviationWeek.

For about a year, Hawker Beechcraft has been working with the Kansas university to implement a program, and the other aviation firms recently joined in the effort.

The partners held their first meeting Feb. 18, and they meet next March 24, according to the article.

Wichita, Kan., is a center for aviation in the United States. Firms there have separately been making strides toward reducing their carbon footprints since last year.
