To address concerns about its water use, Dole Food Co. has joined the Water Footprint Network, a global group that promotes the sustainable, fair and efficient use of fresh water resources.
A company’s water footprint is defined as the total amount of water that goes into producing its products.

Many of Dole’s growing operations and packing houses use drip irrigation and water recycling systems to reduce the amount of water used, Sylvain Cuperlier, Vice President, Director of Worldwide Corporate Social Responsibility at Dole, said in a press release.
