Google Clears Fields With Goats

Google is renting goats to keep fields at its Mountain View headquarters clear of weeds and brush.

“This spring we decided to take a low-carbon approach: Instead of using noisy mowers that run on gasoline and pollute the air, we’ve rented some goats from California Grazing to do the job for us,” a Google blog post reports.

The company rents about 200 goats, which the company says costs about the same as mowing.

Google’s not the only search giant using goats – Yahoo uses them too, USA Today reports.

Bayer Health recently rented 1,450 sheep to graze grass on its Richmond, California campus, according to Fast Company.
