EU Train Firm Aims to Reduce CO2 Emissions 35% by 2012

Eurostar, Europe’s biggest train operator, has a plan to reduce its carbon footprint and a new set of new environmental initiatives, Reuters reports.

The company has bought carbon offsets. The company also plans to make its onboard train lighting, heating and cooling more energy efficient.

It also is working to reduce its carbon emissions 35 percent by 2012, when compared to a 2007 baseline.
