Google Earth Tool Tracks Climate Change

googleearthMultinational companies can track various climate change models through a new Google Earth tool.

The tool, which is a series of layers and tours showing the effects of different climate change models, would allow companies to see how climate change might affect their far-flung operations.

Google recently unveiled the tool at its blog. The tool was developed in collaboration with the Danish government, with an eye toward using it at the upcoming Copenhagen climate talks in December.

The Google Earth plug-in is required to use the tool.

  1. Climate change is effecting every country. Is there

anything we can do at our level to control it? While at

high school, I signed a campaign to “Go Green, Promote

Green” but nothing big ever happened. This is one cause I

would certainly like to get involved into but don’t know how….

  2. Nancy,
One of the best ways would be to write your Congressperson to support HR3242, which puts a true cost on carbon. The fees collected would go to reduce taxes, and the fee would also shift purchases away from carbon, reducing emissions by about 30% in a few decades.
