Volvo Group trucks in the US, both Mack and Volvo branded, are now certified in accordance with 2014 fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas regulations by the EPA and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Mack Trucks’ full lineup of model year 2014 trucks and tractors, and Volvo Trucks’ entire Class 8 vehicle lineup are now fully compliant with the regulations, the company said.
ANSI has launched the Energy Efficiency Standardization Coordination Collaborative (EESCC), which will assess the energy efficiency landscape and carry out the development of a standardization roadmap and compendium. EESCC will work to identify gaps in existing standards, codes and conformance programs, as well as support the adoption and implementation of new standards, codes, and conformance activities that will advance energy efficiency. The EESCC will hold its inaugural plenary meeting January 22-23, ANSI said.

Consumer Electronic Exchange, a provider of electronic trade-in, recycling and asset recovery services, today announced that it has achieved Responsible Recycling (R2) certification. CExchange joins about 239 facilities globally that hold R2 certification. Every certified R2 recycler is third-party audited in more than 50 areas of operational and environmental performance. CExchange is also setting up its own eSafe & eSecure evaluation for its partner programs, the company said.
Solar module testing lab PV Evolution Labs said that several leading solar PV manufacturers have received the highest level of certification as PID-free under its new Potential Induced Degradation (PID) testing program. The qualified manufacturers are Yingli Solar, SolarWorld, JA Solar, Kyocera Solar, and Trina Solar. PVEL created the PID Certification program because it is now known that the electrical potential between the frame and cells of a PV module can cause accelerated performance degradation, the lab said.
