Aide Solar Launches Quasi-Mono Solar Module Range

Aide Solar has released its Quasi-mono solar module portfolio, comprised of 21 additional models, for the commercial and utility markets.

The company says the modules fuse the technical advantages of monocrystalline with the processing advantages of polycrystalline solar cells. Available in both 60- and 72-cell designs, with power ratings ranging from 230 to 320 watts, the new modules have completed UL certification and are available for release in the U.S. market.

Aide Solar’s Quasi-mono modules’ surface color is uniform and has up to four percent higher conversion efficiency at the module level than traditional polycrystalline with comparable manufacturing costs, Aide says.

The range is aimed at use in large-scale solar projects. Following the recent increase in the number of 1MW-plus solar facilities installed, particularly in the utility sector, Aide expects large systems’ market size to more than double by 2015.

In November, solar lighting company Sol released its “20/20” outdoor lighting range. The company is touting the line as a cost effective and reliable alternative to on-grid lighting. It says the product is particularly suitable for parking lots.
