Environmental & Energy Executive Moves: EPEAT, First Solar, Green Charge Networks, SolarBridge

EPEAT: The green electronics registry has appointed Robert Frisbee as its new CEO. Frisbee has served as the director of development at the Oregon Sustainability Center since June 2010, and has worked as a private-sector executive founding telecommunications companies Pacific Star Communications, FirstPoint Communications and Electric Lightwave. EPEAT also named three new board members: Dr. Mike Biddle, president and founder of MBA Polymers, Inc.; Amy Knight, director of corporate social responsibility for Hasbro; and Carl Smith, president and CEO of Call2Recycle.

Codexis, Inc.: The biotech company’s board of directors has appointed Peter Strumph as the interim CEO with the resignation of Alan Shaw as president and CEO. Strumph was the senior vice president and business head of pharmaceuticals, as well as the senior vice president of commercial operations since joining the company in 2010. The move follows the departure of the company’s CFO, Robert Lawson, who has accepted a position at a private software company.

First Solar: The company has hired James Hughes as chief commercial officer, responsible for global business development and sales; project development; engineering, procurement and construction (EPC); product management; and international public affairs and communications.  Most recently, Hughes was director and CEO of AEI.

4See Group: The U.K. EHS and property compliance company has appointed Brian Holmes as its group finance director. Holmes has held several finance positions at U.K.-based companies and his own accountancy business, BAH Financial Services. Hugh Owen also joins the company to oversee new business and client development. Owen has worked in business development and account management in the health and safety industry for the past seven years.

Green Charge Networks: The company has named Ryan Prosser as president and COO — succeeding Ron Prosser, who will take on the role of chairman and CEO. Ryan Prosser most recently served as the vice president of sales. GCN also hired Phil Gow as vice president of engineering. Prior to joining GCN, Gow was vice president of battery systems with CODA Automotive. Luke Wilhelm joins GCN as director of engineering operations and program management. Wilhelm most recently held the positions of senior automotive program manager at A123 Systems and product development manager at Sion Power Corp.

SolarBridge Technologies: The company has appointed Craig Lawrence as vice president of marketing, responsible for strategic marketing, product management, product marketing and marketing communications. Prior to joining the company, Lawrence served in executive roles vice president of products and general manager at SunEdison.

SWCA Environmental Consultants: The company has promoted Joseph J. Fluder III to the position of Rocky Mountain central regional manager to oversee environmental consulting operations east of the Rockies. Fluder joined the company in 2003 and has served as Principal of the Albuquerque and Durango offices since 2009.

FIRA International: The furniture industry association has brought on James Bell as its environmental consultant. Previously, Bell worked as an environment and CSR projects manager for UKDN Waterflow.
