Environmental & Energy Executive Moves: Adobe, TripAdvisor, Gamesa, NextEra Energy, GE

Adobe has named Michelle Crozier Yates to the position of director of corporate social responsibility. Prior to the appointment at Adobe, Yates was the vice president of corporate responsibility at Warner Bros. Entertainment.

TripAdvisor has appointed Jenny Rushmore to the position of director, responsible travel – a newly-created role to make environmentally-responsible travel more accessible to consumers. Rushmore joins TripAdvisor from Procter & Gamble, where she held the role of global sustainability leader for the beauty and grooming business unit.

Gamesa has named Borja Negro as its CEO for North America. Negro joined Gamesa in 2002. His positions at Gamesa have included corporate director of wind farm solutions, sales director at the development and sales of wind farm unit, sales director for the US wind turbine business and division director of international markets.

NextEra Energy announced that Lewis “Lew” Hay, III will step down as CEO in 2012 and retire in 2013. Hay will serve as executive chairman from July 2012 until his retirement. Jim Robo has been named his successor. Robo has served as president and COO of the company since 2006, and joined the company in 2002.

GE Intelligent Platforms announced that Alan Hinchman, global market director, infrastructure, has been named executive chair of industry association Water Innovations Alliance for 2012. In that role, Hinchman will lead the alliance’s efforts to address America’s water infrastructure issues.

The Western Climate Initiative‘s board of directors has named Anita M. Burke as its first executive director, responsible for coordinating administrative support for the emissions trading programs of WCI’s participating jurisdictions, including the allowance auctions, market monitoring, and tracking of carbon allowances and offsets. Burke is the founder of The Catalyst Institute.

SoloPower announced that General Wesley K. Clark, former NATO supreme allied commander, Europe, has joined its board of directors as an independent director. Since retiring from the military in 2000, General Clark has worked as an investment banker and has chaired several public and private companies.

WSP Environment & Energy has appointed Dane Pehrman as director and regional lead for the company’s environmental assessment, planning & permitting practice in the Americas. Pehrman joins from Black & Veatch where he was director of their environmental solutions program for more than 12 years.

Tangent Energy Solutions has appointed John C. Weber to its board of directors. Weber, a founding partner at Laurel Capital Partners, joined Tangent’s board as Laurel’s representative after his firm led a recent investment in Tangent. Prior to co-founding Laurel in 2007, Weber was a partner at MVP Capital Partners.

Enbala Power Networks has appointed Robert Chiste to the company’s board of directors. Since 2009, Chiste has been a private energy investor and an executive-in-residence at venture capital firm El Dorado Ventures, and was chairman and CEO of Comverge from 2001 to 2009.

StormwateRx has appointed new COO Lanz Fritz; Larry Ostry, regional manager for the midwest region; and Raymond Lindeen, regional manager for the south central region. Fritz has been with StormwateRx since 2009, and was formerly CFO and VP, operations for Stormwater Management. Ostry has more than 15 years of experience selling industrial and energy equipment for Hitachi, Sterling and Vodaphone. Lindeen has represented SMI/Contech stormwater treatment products in the industrial market.

Nonprofit R2 Solutions has named two new members to its board of directors. Brenda Pulley, vice president of recycling initiatives for the national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful, and Clare Lindsay, formerly with the U.S. EPA’s Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery, joined the board effective March 1.
