The EPA and territorial authorities have completed a $650,000 cleanup of PCB-contaminated soil from a former military water pump station at Agana Springs, Guam. In 2007, site assessments found PCBs had leaked from the pump station equipment into the ground. About 320 tons of soil were removed from the area and shipped off to the U.S. mainland for proper disposal, EPA said.

The Department of Defense must begin promoting telework as much as possible without jeopardizing mission readiness, and managers who turn down an employee request for telework will have to list their reasons in writing, according to a new policy. The policy supports the DoD goal of at least 30 percent of eligible employees teleworking at least once a week by 2020, the Federal Times said.
