Here’s a final round-up of news coming out of the Lightfair International show, which wrapped up in Las Vegas on Friday.

Lighting Science Group has launched the energy-efficient J5 security light (pictured). The product integrates video sensing with Wi-Fi operation and streams real time imaging to computer or mobile devices, making it suitable for commercial or residential applications, the company says.

Toshiba has made an equity investment in California-based lighting firm Bridgelux with the intent of jointly pursuing technology development in solid state lighting. The companies also announced that they have developed an 8″ GaN on Silicon LED chip emitting 614mW. The product is the result of a collaborative agreement they struck earlier this year.

TerraLUX Inc. has announced that its Line Voltage Linear LED Engine and coordinating retrofit kit have received UL1598C classification and are now shipping. Recipient of the 2012 Product Innovation Award from Architectural SSL magazine, the Line Voltage Linear LED Engine requires no rewiring, extra hardware or electronic driver. The company says it can easily be retrofitted to any existing fixture.

Hera Lighting has released a new LED panel-light that it says is ideal for lighting up pictures or displays. The fixtures use just 4W to 26W depending on their size and have a lifetime of 70,000 hours, the company says.

AEG Power Solutions has announced an LED power supply engineered for a life expectancy equal to that of the LEDs themselves. The EP100D Series should lower the operation and replacement costs of the power supply system, and can operate in constant voltage or constant current modes and include full protection against over-voltage, short circuiting and over-temperature, AEG says.

Creative Lighting Systems has launched its 2012 Eco-Downlight collection. The 2012 line includes a 5″ aperture Eco-Downlight, plus the 3″ aperture Eco-Downlight Generation 2 and the 2″ aperture Eco-Downlight LED “Mini” Generation 2.

Texas Instruments has introduced a new LED controller with constant power regulation. The LM3447 AC/DC LED driver includes a dimmer detect and flicker-free dimming operation, the company says.
