Standards & Compliance Briefing: ISO 13315 for Concrete, Aquaculture Stewardship, Cell Phone Radiation

New standard ISO 13315-1:2012, Environmental Management for Concrete and Concrete Structures – Part 1: General Principles, has been released to help the construction industry manage its environmental impacts. Consistent with the ISO 14000 series on environmental management, the new standard addresses the entire life cycle of concrete structures, including design, production, building, use, demolition, recycling and disposal, writes The Financial.

The Coastal Alliance for Aquaculture Reform has said that the salmon farm performance standards of the newly announced Aquaculture Stewardship Council certification process do not adequately protect wild salmon and the environment. The Dodla Dairy Limited in Andhra Pradesh, India, has earned its ISO 50001 EMS certification, becoming the first dairy in India to carry the certification. TÜV SÜD South Asia performed the audit and awarded the certification, writes Food & Beverage News.

Herbal medicine manufacturer Divya Pharmacy in India has been accredited with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, for manufacture, packaging and supply of Ayurvedic products. BSI India conducted the audit and awarded the three certifications, the company said.
