Grocery chain Whole Foods was honored for Sustained Excellence in Green Power. The company was the first Fortune 500 company to purchase wind power for 100 percent of its electricity use across its US operations. In 2012 the company purchased over 800 million kWh of wind-powered renewable energy certificates, the EPA says.
