NREL Uses Data Center to Heat Office

The US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has debuted its high performance computing (HPC) data center in Golden, Colo.

NREL plans to capture the heat generated by the computers in the HPC system and reuse that as the primary heat source for its new Energy Systems Integration Facility, including office space and laboratories.
