Verizon Plans $100m Investment in Solar, Fuel Cells

solar panelsVerizon says it will invest $100 million in solar and fuel-cell energy projects with SunPower and ClearEdge Power that will help power 19 of its facilities in seven states across the country.

When completed next year, the project will enable Verizon to annually generate more than 70 million kWh of its own green energy while eliminating more than 10,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide, the company says.
