Contract Wins: Mercedes-Benz, Plug Power, Fiat, AeroVironment

Merecedez Benz SUVPlug Power has received an order from Mercedes-Benz for 123 additional hydrogen-based GenDrive fuel cell units to power new forklifts at a logistics hub under construction in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Last July, Mercedes purchased 72 GenDrive fuel cells for the lift truck fleet at its Tuscaloosa vehicle assembly plant. Plug Power says the new GenDrive-powered forklift fleet will be operational by the fourth quarter of this year.

ICS Healy-Ruff signed an agreement with Siemens Water Technologies to become the exclusive national distributor of Siemens Intra-Link Control Systems products. The products include the LC150 Pump Controller, the LC3000 and LC2000 controllers and related accessories.

Fiat has selected AeroVironment as its preferred provider of home charging stations and installations for its all-electric Fiat 500e. Fiat is the fifth plug-in EV auto manufacturer to choose AeroVironment as its full-service home charging partner. Other automakers it partners with include Ford and Nissan.

The city of Fremont, Neb. has awarded Fagen a contract to provide air quality control system emission control technology, as well as detailed engineering and installation of the equipment for the Lon D. Wright Power Plant. This project will allow the plant to meet the mercury, air toxic standard (MATS) and the National Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for SO2. Fagen will partner with lead contractor Siemens and engineering firm SEGA.

China Recycling Energy, an industrial waste-to-energy provider in China, has received approval to jointly establish an energy recycling fund to invest in coke dry quenching energy recovery and waste heat power generation projects with Hongyuan Huifu Venture Capital. An initial amount of $74 million for the fund has been fully subscribed.

The National Cooperative Refinery Association (NCRA) has awaTechnip and its construction partner Performance Contractors a contract to supply Technip’s proprietary reforming technology,as well as engineering, procurement, installation and installation of the No. 2 hydrogen plant equipment at NCRA’s refinery in McPherson, Kan. Technip’s operating center in Claremont, Calif. will execute the project, which is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2015.
