Environmental Executive Moves: CH2M Hill, PE International, Yardney, BioteQ

CH2M Hill: The consulting and design-build company says CEO and chairman Lee McIntire will step down as CEO effective Jan. 1, 2014 but will continue to serve as chairman of the board. Jacqueline Hinman will serve as CEO. Hinman, who joined the firm in 1988, most recently served as president of CH2M Hill International and is a member of the board.

PE International: The sustainability software and services firm has appointed Christoph Wilfert (pictured) as CEO. He most recently was president of Education First. Before that, he spent seven years at Microsoft in senior managerial positions.

UN Convention to Combat Desertification: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Monique Barbut of France as head of the UNCCD, the international agreement linking environment and development to sustainable land management. Previously, Barbut was special adviser to the CEO of the Agence Française pour le Développement.

Yardney Water Management Systems: The water filtration equipment manufacturer has named Chris Phillips vice president and general manager. Phillips joined Yardney in 2004; since 2007 he has served as operations manager.

BioteQ Environmental Technologies: The industrial wastewater treatment company said that due to personal reasons, its president and chief technical officer, David Kratochvil, will step down from his current role on Oct. 18. Kratochvil will take on the role of a technical advisor to the company.

American Water: The nation’s largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company has appointed Mark LeChevallier, its director of innovation and environmental stewardship, to the Water Environment Research Foundation’s Research Council for a three-year term, beginning Jan. 1, 2014.

Health Product Declaration Collaborative: The nonprofit that administers the Health Product Declaration, the first open standard format for disclosing the contents and related health hazards of building materials, has named Eden Brukman as its technical director. Brukman was previously vice president and a director at the International Living Future Institute.

Climate Bonds Initiative: The investor-focused NGO has named Justine Leigh-Bell program coordinator for the Climate Bonds Standard, an assurance project of the Climate Bonds Initiative. Bell most recently worked in India, helping design an urban environment-focused social venture, and was also with a sustainability consultancy focusing on natural capital accounting.
