Standards and Compliance: Mitsubishi Obtains IEC 61508, IEC for Explosive Atmospheres, ISO 14001

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has completed development of the DIASYS Netmation 4S control system complying with IEC 61508 international functional safety standards. Developed for monitoring and control of thermal power generation plants and other facilities, the DIASYS Netmation 4S is one of only a few examples – and Japan’s first – of products to satisfy hardware and software requirements in terms of both “control and protection” functions. TÜV SÜD conducted the testing and certification process, MHI said.

Great Plains Industries said that their G2, A1 and 03 Series Meters with 09 Electronics now have ATEX Essential Health and Safety Requirements and IEC Certification Scheme for Explosive Atmospheres certifications. The newly acquired standards offer safety assurance to industry sectors operating in explosion prone atmospheres, such as in hazardous waste environments.
