The Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef has released its draft Principles and Criteria for Global Sustainable Beef for public comment, through May 16. The draft was developed by GRSB members, including producers and producer associations, the processing sector, retail companies, civil society organizations, and regional roundtables.
California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has scheduled an April 14 public workshop to discuss possible regulatory changes to Proposition 65, Mark Anstoetter and Madeleine McDonough of Shook Hardy & Bacon LLP write on Lexology. OEHHA is considering three to five required elements: use of the words “warning” and “expose,” inclusion of an international pictogram, disclosure of the names of up to 12 commonly known chemicals, and a link to a new agency website. It also proposes giving small retailers a 14-day grace period, and tailoring language for specific sectors. The final changes could be adopted by summer 2015.
The International Code Council has released a monograph of proposed changes to the International Green Construction Code, to be considered during the Group C Committee Action Hearing April 27-May 3 in Memphis, Tenn. Online voting will occur after the hearing, and if the motion passes, the item will be considered at a public comment hearing in October.
Good Environmental Choice Australia is seeking feedback from developers, manufacturers and infrastructure project teams on which additional standards it should develop to help projects earn points under the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia’s IS rating scheme for infrastructure projects, Architecture & Design Reports. The IS rating’s Materials category awards points for use of certified products including panel boards, floor coverings, furniture, paints and insulation.
