Portable Wind Turbine Powers USB Devices

wind energy manageSkajaquoda launched a Kickstarter campaign for its new product Trinity – a portable wind turbine that charges USB devices such as smart phones or tablets.

Trinity folds together into a portable 12-inch cylinder. Its 15 W generator and a built-in battery holds 15,000 mAh. The charging device can be arranged in a tripod configuration or laid flat. Trinity features a USB plug to charge devices and a mini USB plug to charge Trinity in a wall socket.

Last year, AT&T erected 25 solar-powered charging stations in outdoor spaces through New York City’s five boroughs as part of a pilot project aimed at meeting the growing power needs of smartphone and tablet-wielding consumers.
