USGBC Creates a Building Monitoring Tool

USGBC Energy ManageThe LEED Dynamic Plaque will be revealed at the Rocky Mountain Green conference in Colorado this week. The LEED Dynamic Plaque measuring device will give users a real-time display of how a building is performing in the areas of energy, water, waste, transportation and human experience.

The aim is to measure LEED buildings’ performance post-occupancy after the etched glass LEED certification plaques have been awarded. The new dashboard will also make it easier to continually improve building systems and to recertify buildings through the Green Building Certification Institute, the USGBC’s third-party reviewer.

Scot Horst, senior vice president of LEED at the US Green Building Council, is chief inventor of the LEED Dynamic Plaque, and Horst will unveil the tool at this week’s conference.
