China Bak, Dalian Institute Partner on Next-Gen Battery

cbak-new-building-220Lithium-ion battery maker China Bak has partnered with Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences to research and develop next-generation battery technologies.

The collaboration, which will bring together CBAK’s strengths in the power battery sector and DICP’s leadership in advanced rechargeable batteries, are in response to growing demand for electric vehicles in China, according to the two organizations. The research and development of a lithium battery with high energy density, high security, long life and low cost is critical to develop advanced electric vehicles in China, said CBAK and DICP.

Under the agreement, CBAK and DICP will jointly research and develop key technologies and materials in power batteries with an aim to produce the most powerful battery worldwide. The two parties will also train people in technical skills to further promote the industrial development of China’s power battery industry.
