World Economic Forum: The Swiss nonprofit foundation has appinted William McDonough (pictured) as chair of the Forum’s Meta-Council on the Circular Economy. McDonough has held appointments on previous Global Agenda Councils and served as the special adviser on sustainable development to President Clinton.
Think Beyond Plastic Accelerator: The plastic pollution innovation and entrepreneurship group has announced the appointment of five executive officers. Daniella Russo has been named chief executive officer. Russo has executive experience with high-tech, Fortune 500 businesses and NGOs. Destin Joy Layne has been named chief operating officer. Layne has more than 15 years of experience leading projects with nationwide philanthropic, political and education initiatives. Gregory T. Baxter has been named chief technology officer. Baxter is on the Founders Board of Advisors at StartX Stanford Student Startup Accelerator and was a Fellow with The Innovation Accelerator. Michael P. Washburn has been named chief sustainability officer. Washburn is a former vice president of sustainability at Nestle Waters North America. Pam Marcus has been named senior director of consumer products. Marcus is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of Lifefactory.
Marten Law: The environmental and energy law firm has announced that Terry Uhling has joined the firm as a partner. Uhling was formerly senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of J.R. Simplot Company.
