SABMiller has pledged to reduce the carbon footprint of its entire supply chain from grass to glass by 25 percent per liter of beer, and 50 percent across all breweries, by 2020, against a 2010 baseline.

According to the company’s 2012 sustainability report, SABMiller reduced its water consumption and carbon emissions per hectoliter of lager produced by 5 percent and 10 percent, compared to 2011 levels. The report covers the financial period that ended March 31, 2012.
