Banyan WaterBanyan Water, a technology company specializing in smart water management, says it has saved commercial and institutional clients 1.25 billion gallons of water since 2011, helping them reduce their water footprints and operating expenses even as drought conditions continue to affect a large portion of the US.

Banyan Water’s initial technology product, Smart Irrigation, delivers 60 percent to 80 percent water savings over clients’ prior use, the company says. To complement its success driving outdoor water efficiency, the company in July released its Flow Monitoring product targeted at indoor water use. It combines flow-monitoring hardware and a web-based platform to provide clients with actionable information to manage water throughout their properties.

Having immediate feedback if water use patterns differ from expectations lets clients quickly identify water issues to avoid property damage and high water bills, the company says. Banyan Water also reports ongoing water portfolio performance and comparisons to historical use and efficiency targets.
