Flawed green building data was used to award LEED platinum, gold and silver ratings to buildings in India, according to a study by New Delhi-based research and advocacy organization, Centre for Science and Environment.

According to Intelligent Building Today, the data released by the Indian Green Building Council on the large commercial buildings’ energy consumption was incorrect and many of the buildings detailed in the report cannot even qualify for the one star label under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency’s energy star labeling program.

Late last week the US Green Building Council added six member organizations to its LEED International Roundtable, a team of practitioners, green building experts and organizations from around the world working toward increasing the global application and adoption of LEED, including The Energy and Resources Institute in India.
