Berkeley Lab, NTU Singapore Collaborate for Energy Technologies

Berkeley Lab logoNanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will jointly develop technologies for energy efficiency and sustainable development in the tropics. They will collaborate on research in various areas of energy-efficiency for buildings, renewable energy generation and storage, and smart grids.

The five-year partnership will work to overcome specific environmental challenges faced in tropical megacities like Singapore and to demonstrate innovative solutions in real-life settings.

Berkeley Lab will utilize its FLEXLAB advanced buildings test facility, and demonstration projects will also be carried out in conjunction with NTU Singapore’s EcoCampus initiative, which uses the university’s campus and adjoining Cleantech Park as a test bed for research in green technologies.
