Ovivo System Feed Power Plant Using Recycled Wastewater

Ovivo WaterWater and wastewater treatment company Ovivo has won a $5 million contract to supply a boiler feed water system for a power plant in the Middle East.

Ovivo’s system will recycle wastewater from a nearby municipal sewage treatment plant. The scope of supply includes Ovivo’s process design and equipment — such as clarification, ultra-filtration, reverse osmosis and electrodeionization (EDI) — to achieve the required level of water purity to generate steam for the power plant.

The system is scheduled for delivery in 2016.

Last month General Electric said it will commission a reverse osmosis mobile water filtration system at the Golden Valley Electric Association coal-fired power plant in Healy, Alaska. The GE system will provide the plant with clean water during a planned outage to upgrade the plant’s water treatment system and environmental controls and facilitate the start up of Unit 2.
