STW Resources Demos its Desalination Technology

STW Resources Holding subsidiary, STW Water Process & Technologies, will this week conduct a demonstration of its exclusively licensed Salttech Dynamic Vapor Recompression (DyVaR) zero liquid discharge (ZLD) water processing technology at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, Texas.

The desalination demonstration is one of several presentations STW Water has planned statewide this year for the purpose of educating public and private entities such as oil and gas companies about the DyVaR technology and its capacity for delivering clean water from brackish and ocean water with minimal discharge.

STW has obtained water samples directly from the Gulf of Mexico for the purpose of the demonstration. STW Water Specialists will run the salt water through the DyVaR system and will discuss the results. The distillate will be verified by an independent, third-party, certified water laboratory.

The company says the demonstration will illustrate the performance level of the DyVaR technology and its potential role in addressing the challenges of the drought and limited freshwater resources in Texas and other states.

Stanley Weiner, CEO of STW Resources, says the technology can save oil and gas companies’ money on their drilling activities by reclaiming their drilling and fracking water while also conserving freshwater for municipal and agricultural needs.

The first Salttech DyVaR System operating in the US, set up by the manufacturer with funding assistance from the federal government, is in Mentone, Texas. It will provide water for Mentone after the successful pilot is completed. It runs off the electricity grid with solar farms providing electricity to offset the cost.

As prolonged drought in many areas pushes public and private entities to look at desalination among other water conservation technologies, Effluent Free Desalination says its new desalination technology can produce fresh water economically, in abundance and without adverse environmental consequences such as concentrated brine discharge.
