How Spain’s Leading Province in Recycling Beat EU Target

Gipuzkoa, a province located in the Spanish Basque Country, has almost doubled recycling rates in five years, saving € 250 million ($280 million) and meeting European Union targets five years ahead of schedule. Zero Waste Europe executive director Joan-Marc Simon says this shows that the EU target of 50 percent recycling “is completely feasible in only five years.”
