Sensus Smart Water Network Helps Dry California Conserve Water

Sensus FlexNetSensus’ smart water network is helping the city of Fountain Valley in drought-stricken California conserve water and prevent leaks.

The Southern California city has set a city-wide water reduction goal of 20 percent. Mark Sprague, the city’s utilities manager, says the smart water network — including the FlexNet communication system, iPERL residential and OMNI commercial meters — alerts the city to high water users so it can work with them to find ways to use water more efficiently.

Sensus says its technology can improve utilities’ system performance and reduce inefficiencies, resulting in up to $12.5 billion in annual savings.
