CES’ scope of services includes asbestos removal from Deviney Hall and demolition of both Deviney Hall and Dorman Hall. The buildings are nine-story dormitories that were built in the 1950s.
Dorman Hall is in the process of being demolished while Deviney Hall is undergoing asbestos removal prior to demolition. Additional work efforts include the removal of all universal waste from both buildings, meaning the removal of all mercury containing bulbs, emergency exit light batteries and mercury containing switches.
Much of the demolition debris is concrete and is manifested to be recycled into coarse and fine graded aggregates. About 400,000 square feet of masonry material and concrete will be recycled as this project progresses.
Earlier this month the US Navy selected CES to remove three Navy hangers located at the Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida.
