P&G Overhauls Packaging, Commits to 230M Recycled Plastic Bottles Annually

Lenor packagingProcter & Gamble Fabric Care says it will make 230 million bottles a year out of recycled plastic. The packaging overhaul includes brands like Ariel, Dash, Lenor and Unstoppables.

The company expects the first P&G bottles that will be produced using post consumer recyclate (PCR) to be on sale in retailers in the first half of 2016. Through this initiative, the amount of incremental recycled material that P&G Fabric Care will use per year increases by 3.8 kilo tons.

This action is part of P&G’s commitment to increase the amount of recycled material in its packaging. The company vision is to make 100 percent of its products and packaging from renewable and recycled materials.

Earlier this month P&G joined The Recycling Partnership, which aims to increase recycling in the US.
