AZ School District Looks to Change Energy Use

schools-energy-manageThe Coolidge (AZ) Unified School District is taking steps to change how it consumes energy, according to the Casa Grande Dispatch.

The site says that the school district has retained McKinstry to help it design cultural changes for the 2016-2017 school year. The story notes that McKinstry’s PowerED program takes a behavioral approach to saving energy and confronting environmental challenges through low cost and no cost strategies. The story says that students at the high school and grade school level have been part of “people modules,” which began training in January. Preparatory work with McKinstry started this month, the story said.

Late last year, Southside Elementary School in Shelbyville, KY, became the 300th school in the state to gain EnergyStar certification.
