Evoqua Inks Deal to Buy Water Filtration Company

Evoqua Neptune BensonWater treatment technology company Evoqua Water Technologies has signed an agreement to acquire Neptune Benson, a manufacturer of water filtration and disinfection products for the recreational, industrial, and municipal water markets.

Evoqua did not disclose the terms of the acquisition and says it expects to close on the transaction this spring.

Neptune Benson’s filtration and ultra-violet disinfection products can be found in more than 20,000 installations worldwide, covering 45 countries.

Evoqua CEO Ron Keating says adding Neptune Benson’s filtration and disinfection products will help Evoqua achieve its goal to double its business by the end of 2021.

Evoqua’s municipal and industrial customers include the city of Paso Robles, California, Penn State University and the US Food & Drug Administration’s Arkansas Regional Laboratory in Jefferson, Arkansas.

Neptune Benson was founded by Junius and Raymond Gertz as a residential and small commercial pool company in 1956. The company later shifted its focus to filtration systems for institutional pools larger than 250,000 gallons.

Ken Rodi, CEO of Neptune Benson, will become a member of Evoqua’s leadership team and will report to Keating.
