CO2 Sciences: The Global CO2 Initiative’s research and development art, which focuses on converting carbon emissions into commercial products, has appointed Dr. Issam Dairanieh (pictured) as its CEO. Dairanieh is the former head of the corporate venture capital team at BP.

Minesto: The marine energy technology company’s board of directors has appointed Dr. Martin Edlund, acting CEO since February, as CEO of Minesto. Over the past six years, Edlund has served as chairman of the board with an operational role in the company.

Green Seal: The environmental certification organization has named Danielle Tergis vice president of communications. Prior to joining Green Seal, Tergis founded and ran a communications, public relations and marketing company for clients in the healthy lifestyles, sustainability, nonprofit and culinary sectors.

Untha: The waste management and industrial shredding company has added Andreas Senkbeil to its waste management business unit. He will be responsible for the company’s growth in the Asian Pacific market.

Black & Veatch: The consulting, engineering and construction firm has named Jonathan Loveland global practice leader for its Alternative Water Supply business line, which includes all types of desalination, reclaimed and recycled water projects. Loveland most recently worked as vice president, technical services, at Poseidon Resources.

Burges Salmon: The environment team from the UK law firm has appointed Simon Tilling as partner. Tilling joined Burges Salmon as a trainee in 2004 and qualified into the environment team in 2006.
