Demand Energy, EnerSys Complete Storage Project

DemandEnergyDemand Energy and EnerSys have completed the first of five storage projects that will be enrolled in Con Edison’s Demand Management Program, according to Demand Energy.

The press release says that one of five 100 kW/400 kWh energy storage systems has passed the Measurement and Verification testing stage. Testing is underway at four other Manhattan installations, which are owned by apartment rental firm Glenwood. The systems are powered by Demand Energy’s DEN.OS (Distributed Energy Network Optimization System), which the company says is an intelligent software control platform. It operates alone or in coordination with fuel cells, solar power and other distributed generation sources.

Earlier this month, The Obama Administration released a series of executive orders that focus on energy storage.
