Toyota says that its dealership in Corvallis, OR, will be the car maker’s first Certified Net Zero Energy Automotive Dealership when it opens.
The press release says that the architect – Gensler – will collect data to enable the building, when complete, to gain LEED Platinum certification. The facility will use solar power and return unused energy to the local grid. That will at least partially offset usage at peak period. The building also will use water harvesting to irrigate landscaping, radiant floor and geothermal heating and cooling to regulate the temperature of the building, the press release says.
In June, MP2 Energy agreed to provide renewable energy for Toyota’s new plant in Plano, TX.
