DoE Offers Native American Funding

doe2The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DoE) Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs issued a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) last week on deployment fund availability for clean energy and energy efficiency projects.

Mondaq says that the law firm Holland & Knight said that eligible applicants include tribal governments, Alaska Native Regional Corporations and Village Corporations, trial energy resource development organizations and trial consortia.

The story says that the DoE anticipates making awards from $50,000 to $500,000 for projects in trial buildings and from $250,000 to $1 million community-scale projects. Projects are based on a 50 percent cost share from nonfederal sources. Applications are due on Feb. 7, 2017.
