On March 14, Energy Trust of Oregon – a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping 1.5 million utility customers in the Beaver State, as well as in southwest Washington, to save energy and generate renewable power – announced the selection of Fairfax, Virginia-based ICF to manage its energy efficiency program for existing commercial buildings.

This is the second Energy Trust contract awarded to ICF, an organization that describes itself as a consulting and technology services provider to government and commercial clients worldwide. The contract has a term of up to five years, including three base years and a renewal option for up to two additional years, and will be incrementally funded. The funding for the first year is $14.3 million.

“After a competitive solicitation process we are pleased to contract again with ICF to serve commercial customers with cash incentives and services that help them save energy, lower their energy costs and improve their bottom lines,” said Energy Trust Executive Director Michael Colgrove, adding,  “In 2016, Energy Trust’s Existing Buildings customers received more than $29 million in cash incentives for nearly 5,000 energy upgrades and retrofits, resulting in savings of 110 million kWh and 1.4 million annual therms of natural gas. We have our sights set on delivering improved services and results in 2017, and ICF will help us reach our goals.”

Under the agreement, which was awarded in4Q2016, ICF will provide continuing and expanded energy efficiency services to Energy Trust, and the customers of the five investor-owned utilities it serves, to support its growing commercial retrofit program. ICF brings a full complement of energy efficiency capabilities to this complex program that serves multiple types of gas and electric utility customers spread across a wide and varying geographic region.

These capabilities include ICF’s proprietary energy analytics platform, expertise in energy efficiency engineering, marketing and outreach, trade ally recruitment and management, incentive processing, and process improvement.
