Editor’s Note: Two Cool Things

Reflections from Jen…

Dear Reader,

I wanted to take a quick minute to point out a couple of neat things: a useful new resource and an upcoming announcement.

First, if you look at our main nav bar, you’ll notice a new item called Energy Management Products. Awhile back, it occurred to me that as experts working in the energy management space, its useful to hear about exciting new products that could help you to do your job better. We hadn’t covered product announcements much in the past, so I began assigning those to our writers in order to give you a head’s up when a potentially important new tool is released.

With Energy Management Products, we’ve gathered all of those announcements into one place. You can peruse the list of new product announcements, click through to read on for more information, or just browse to find out what’s new in the marketplace. As we continue to publish product announcements, they will automatically post to the Energy Management Products page. So if you have a busy day or week and haven’t been able to keep up with our news coverage, you can always go to the products page to see what you may have missed.

Check it out when you have a chance. I’m confident you’ll find it a useful tool – I’ve already benefited from scrolling through the products, finding it a time-saver when I’m searching for something particular.

Now for the announcement (actually, to be perfectly honest, it’s an announcement about an upcoming announcement). You may have seen the article earlier in the week about EMT75, but if not, here’s the big news: our advisers and other industry experts helped us cull through hundreds of nominations for the EMT75 program, and the Honorees have been selected! Those named to the EMT75 list will be notified on February 5.

Confused about the name change (last year it was the EMT50)? Honestly, we had so many great nominations come in that it was impossible to narrow them down to just 50 Honorees, so this year we named 75. If you nominated someone, or were yourself nominated, you’ll know next week if you made the list!

The EMT75 list is a merit-based and peer-nominated program to honor those who are driving the environmental and sustainability management industry and their respective companies forward.

The new EMT75 will be publicly announced on May 1 via the EMT newsletter, EMT website and a special announcement email. The public announcement comes just two weeks before the Environmental Leader and Energy Manager Conference in Denver, May 15-17, during which Honorees will be feted at a special event. The event will be open to all attendees to help celebrate the individuals who are moving the needle for the industry, whether they are this year’s Honorees or simply the hundreds of others in the space working diligently to move the industry forward.

So stay tuned: if you’ve been named an Honoree, you’ll know next week! In the meantime, have a great weekend. And, as always, stay in touch.

Jen
