Cushion manufacturer Klear Vu Corporation has invested in a new 243 kW solar energy system that will supply more than 35% of the company’s annual electricity. Klear Vu says it expects the system to provide more than $320,000 in after-tax value over the life of the panels.
The solar array will generate over 300,000 kWh of energy in its first year. The solar renewable energy certificates (SRECs) generated by the system are being sold into MA solar market.
The decision to install a rooftop solar array at its Fall River, Mass., facility represents “a significant investment in improving the environment while also saving money on electricity costs,” says Klear Vu president Ben Cooper.
Klear Vu partnered with Dynamic Energy Solutions for the development and installation of the solar array.

Another Dynamic Energy project completed in Massachusetts includes the largest solar carport project in the state: ADESA, a leader in vehicle auctions, worked with Dynamic Energy to install a 4.23 MW system that offsets about 80% of the facility’s annual electricity consumption and will result in $11.1 million in cost savings over the 20-year PPA contract, the company says.
Also in Massachusetts, in 2016 Dynamic Energy completed the installation of a roof mount solar project atop C.H. Yates Rubber Corp’s facility. The 1.3 MW project took advantage of the Massachusetts SREC program and is resulting in an energy cost savings of $5.8 million over 25 years.
