Port Esbjerg Powers Docked Vessels with Wind Turbines Instead of On-board Diesel Generators

A port in Denmark plans to reduce carbon emissions by 70% by 2030 by working with Honeywell on a comprehensive carbon and energy management program. The first phase of Port Esbjerg’s initiative — shore-to-ship power units that allow docked vessels to run on renewable electricity from offshore wind turbines instead of using on-board diesel generators — has been completed.

Ameren has released its 2019 sustainability report. In it, the St. Louis-based power company states that it is targeting an 80% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050. The company, with 2.4 million customers, also announced that it spent $182 million on electric and natural gas energy efficiency programs in 2018.

Largest Community Choice Aggregator Solar Project Completed in California

sPower, an independent power producer, working collaboratively with MCE, announced that they recently achieved commercial operations on a 130 MWdc solar project in Lancaster, California. The project, named Antelope Expansion 2, completed by sPower in December of 2018, will sell output to MCE under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
