Early Bird Deadline: February 4, 2016

We are especially excited to announce the fifth annual Environmental Leader Product and Project Awards, because it is the first year we will have a live event to announce the winners. The event will be held during the Environmental Leader 2016 conference, June 21-23. Winners will be informed six weeks prior to the conference so they can make their travel plans. (Attendance at the ceremony is not required for a submission to be named a Top Product/Project of the Year, but we encourage attendance because the event offers winners an additional opportunity promote your win to prime audience.)

The Environmental Leader Product and Project Awards is a program recognizing excellence in products/services and projects that provide companies with environmental, sustainability and energy management benefits; winners are awarded Top Product/Project of the Year based on scores from a panel of distinguished judges with in-the-trenches experience in environmental management, headed by an unbiased judging coordinator from outside Environmental Leader.

In addition to receiving validation from industry experts, companies whose entries receive high scores will gain recognition by being featured on Environmental Leader in a Product & Project Awards “Hall of Fame,” providing valuable exposure for deserving products to Environmental Leader’s audience (75% of Environmental Leader’s audience influences spending decisions). They will also be featured in a special report which is promoted all year long via ads on the Environmental Leader website.

Companies named Top Product/Project have full use of the Product & Project Awards badge, providing industry recognition to purchasers, that can be displayed on product packaging, trade show displays, websites, and other marketing materials. Judges provide brief comments about the submission.

 Judging Process

A panel of experts in the energy and environmental management fields, from LNS Research and from top end-user companies including Anheuser-Busch InBev, ConAgra, Microsoft, and Puma, will judge the submissions. Each submission will be judged by at least three judges. Judges use entry forms and supporting material (spec sheets, charts, case studies, etc.) as a basis to score products on a scale from 1-5, as well as to provide their opinions about the products. Products that receive a score of 3 or higher will be designated a Top Product/Project of the Year. Judges provide a score and short written comments about each product or project. Companies will receive a summary of the comments, but will not know which judge rated their products. Environmental Leader has no hand in judging the entries; a coordinator from LNS Research will oversee the judging process to assign products/projects to the appropriate judges and to tally scores.

Experts on the judging panel come from:

  •  LNS Research
  •   MUFG Union Bank
  •   University of California, Berkeley
  •  Autodesk
  •  ConAgra Foods, Inc.
  •  C&A Company
  •  Sears
